Veterans Build 2023
The annual Veterans Build in Chicagoland kicked-off November 4-5th, 2023 with teams of veterans building at all eight Habitat for Humanity affiliate sites!
At Habitat for Humanity of McHenry County, we believe that every veteran family deserves a decent place to call home. Our Veterans Build Program works to empower veterans through home ownership opportunities, critical home repairs and camaraderie building events.
Habitat for Humanity of McHenry County is actively addressing the lack of affordable housing by partnering with military service members, their families, and veterans to help build and repair affordable housing. Habitat McHenry’s hand-up not a hand-out approach asks partner families to invest sweat-equity hours to build their home and volunteer with us.

We believe every veteran deserves to be welcomed home with dignity, honor, and respect. We are looking to partner with veterans and their families to build a new safe, stable, and affordable home.
Home Repair
Habitat McHenry’s Home Repair program partners with veteran homeowners to repair their homes in need of critical repairs, modifications, ?that may be too costly or physically challenging.
Volunteer
Interested in volunteering or joining a Veteran Build event? Habitat for Humanity of McHenry County is actively helping veterans reintegrate into civilian life by creating opportunities for veterans and civilians to work together on Veteran Build Projects.
